Ok so I planned on doing this every Sunday. Vacation and the holidays got in the way. (Excuses, excuses....) 2010 will be better. Not much has happened on the home improvement front since the last post, I haven't been home much. Mexico, and Kansas for Christmas. I have shoveled a lot of snow though. I really dislike the cold, and the snow.
Mexico was great we stayed at the Iberostar resort on Cozumel. The food was good, the all day cocktailing was wonderful. The weather was great partly cloudy everyday, 80 degree air temps, and 82 degree water temps. I did 8 dives while I was there, all drift diving clear water, very fun, easy diving. I see why it is a world class destination, I would certainly go back...and dive even more. Next time perhaps 12-16 dives will suit me :-) I did see sharks, turtles, lots of fish, but the most remarkable thing was the elusive and endemic Splendid Toadfish on my last dive and as geeky as this may sound I found that pretty exciting.
Kansas for Christmas was cold and snowy. Also, I ate and drank much more than anticipated (in fact I may have undermined all the working out I had done previous to Christmas break). It was really good to see everyone. I had not been home for Christmas since I moved to Hawaii in 2001. It was overdue, and I am glad I got to spend it with everyone... Everyone except Laura, she couldn't get away from work, all out of vacation time. We have agreed that this was the last Christmas that we spend apart. It really sucked calling her to say 'Merry Christmas'.
New Years was uneventful, in fact I snored through the ball drop. Laura was sick, and I was tired so we went to bed about 10 pm. Old fuddy duddys. Oh well, perhaps we will see midnight next New Years Eve. That pretty much covers everything. Until next week. Happy New Year.

Miles run this week-10.8
We are off to Cozumel on Wednesday, the forecast around here is snow, so I suppose the timing is good. The dogs are off to Puppy Prison for a week, more like a canine spa. I am going to miss them nevertheless. I have never been to Cozumel, but have always wanted to go. We are going to meet (my) in-laws down there. I am really looking forward to scuba diving, I have not been on an official, non-swimming pool, dive since 2006. My gills are dessicated. Also, the fish....fresh red snapper, and ceviche, making myself hungry just thinking of it. The salt water and hot sun won't hurt a bit either.
Finished painting the foyer. Lightened up the wall color and painted the ceiling white, it looks much bigger, and lighter. I will post before and after pics as soon as I can find the cable to my camera. We plan on repainting the living room, dining room, and hallway as well. I will post pics as the project evolves.
I found this http://wcco.com/wireapnewsia/filling.up.fuel.2.1339411.html online this week. The article notes that between 2004 and 2008 238 small planes crashed because they ran out of fuel. My father-in-law says you should never pass a gas station or a bathroom. These words of wisdom are no more true than when you are about to find yourself 5,000 feet above the earth where there is no corner store to pop in to and put $20 in the tank.
See you next week.
